Leading the Curriculum

Curriculum Teams

At Poplars Farm, we organise the leadership of the curriculum through teams. As we are a relatively small staff teaching team, all teaching staff have responsibility for a subject or aspect. The team approach ensures that senior leaders can offer their experience and advice to newer members of their curriulum team. Everyone has a shared responsibility to keep up to date with curriculum development and to put ideas forward to ensure our curriculum remains innovative and exciting.

STEM

Vision statement

We want to prepare our children to become educated, global citizens who will thrive in a highly complex world. Through engaging and exciting opportunities children will develop questioning and problem-solving skills to enable them to become self-motivated life-long learners. Our subjects will build the foundations needed to shape their future.

COMMUNICATION AND EXPRESSION

Vision Statement

Our children will access their personal potential as effective communicators. They will express themselves creatively and imaginatively, with confidence. We believe that communication and expression are intrinsic qualities needed now and in the future lives of our children.

GLOBAL EDUCATION AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Vision statement

To ensure the effective implementation of a curriculum that creates informed and active global citizens, with a secure sense of self-awareness. Our children will understand how their lives are connected to others and how their own actions impact on the environment, so enabling them to make responsible and fair choices for the future.
