Our school SENDCO is Mrs Rebecca Fogden.  If you any concerns about your children and their needs then please make an appointment by contacting her on 01274 307490 or emailing the school office at office@poplarsfarm.bradford.sch.uk.

At Poplars Farm we celebrate all children and their achievements, regardless of their needs. We strongly believe that all children must access a curriculum that is exciting, engaging and challenging.  It is important that all individuals feel supported.  Our curriculum has been designed with all pupils in mind and it is adapted to suit the needs of all.

We are on an exciting journey to being a neurodiverse school and this is reflected in our learning environments, our fully inclusive curriculum and our inclusive ethos.  Our school GROW values (Giving, Responsible, Open-Minded and Welcoming) are embedded throughout school and fully support this vision.

What is Neurodiversity?

When it comes to inclusion, neurodiversity refers to a world where neurological differences are recognised and respected as all other human variations.

Depending on how our brains are wired we think, move, process information and communicate in different ways. Many people in our community use neurodiversity as an umbrella term used to describe alternative thinking styles such as Dyslexia, DCD (Dyspraxia), Dyscalculia, Autism and ADHD. But regardless of labels, neurodiversity is about recognising those who think differently. And no matter whether you are a school, university or organisation you can benefit from different thinkers!

Support Speech and Language Needs through school

We work closely with both NHS speech and Language team and Chatterbug to ensure that the speech, language and communication needs of our pupils are being met.

The Bradford NHS Speech and Language therapy page https://www.bdct.nhs.uk/services/childrens-speech-and-language-therapy/ has fantastic resources that are easily accessible.

If you have any concerns about your child's speech, language or communication needs then please speak to either your class teacher or the school SENDCO.
